TGFB: Thank goodness for bloggers

Just a real quick note as I have class in a few minutes:
  • Thank you all for your kind and soothing words in the comments of my last post. You all came through for me, and it made a world of difference. You all help me get a perspective again. Seems that you are doing the job that medication would otherwise be doing if I could take some.
  • I had a second interview with a legal aid clinic in my town, and from my distorted reality, it was a disaster. I should find out the sad results by the beginning of next week.
  • Participated in my first mock trial competition and it was nothing less than a total trainwreck. More on that to come.
  • If there was any Salmonella in that food on Sunday, I conquered it. No symptoms. No puking. All is well, for now.
Promise to write more tomorrow. Cause really, it's all in the details. :)

See, we were right! I'm glad you are feeling better and I think that mock trial and interview probably went better than you think.
I'm holding out hope anyway, K?

Nicole! So happy to hear there's been no Salmonella puking. Told ya so he he! And you never know about the interview, you can't be worse at them than me... when asked at an interview for The B0dy Sh0p what my favourite product is, I was so nervous and answered, "cream". Duh!

I've been reading some of your back posts & I've got to tell you, you have got the most loving heart. I think you always put others before yourself & that you're a perfectionist. Maybe I'm wrong, but I dunno. I guess what I'm trying to say is, go easy on yourself.

Whoever said you had first-time-motheritis called it right, I think. You're facing a whole lot of unknowns right now, but that's part of the fun, right? I'm so glad you didn't get sick!

berrybird is right...first time mothers freak out over everything. it's totally normal and I get a ton of calls from them. They're so happy to hear that they are normal.

1. Glad you're feeling better about the "hollandaise incident." FWIW, I spent the first three months of my (only successful) pregnancy stuffing ham sandwiches down my gullet as fast as I could. Can you say nitrites? My flesh was the consistency of cured ham by the time I hit the second trimester.
2. As for the legal clinic job, repeat after me: The interview was not a disaster, but a triumph of talent and poise.
3. As for moot court, take it from someone who hated moot court with the white-hot intensity of 1000 suns: if you didn't throw-up on any of the judges, or your opponent, consider it a win.

i am so glad to hear that you pulled through and didn't get sick from the food. I am sure your interview wasn't that much of a distaster.

I'm very happy to hear that you didn't get the pukies from the brunch.
Don't worry about the interview, it probably was not as bad as you think...even if it was...so what...fuck 'em...there are other places out there...you'll come up with something :)

DD made that kitty. She learned it at Girl Scouts from her friend and now our house is full of them. She loves making art out of all kinds of trash...drives me buggy sometimes.
I had planned to clean out my basement when she goes to Girl Scout camp this summer...but now she is talking about doing it so she has more room for her favorite doll's stuff. go figure. we'll see if that actually happens.

Tip #1 for becoming a new parent...try to stop yourself from buying your child everything that you didn't get as a kid. You end up with a ton of junk quickly!

Town criers: Thank you so much!!!

Jenny: Thanks for the hugs. Makes me feel all warm and fuzzy.

Aurelia: Yup, you were all right. And as far as the mock trial, well, it was definitely great experience and gives me a whole new respect for trial lawyers.

Bumble: Yeah, you were right again. Why do you think I keep coming back to you all? Funny story about the body shop. At least I didn't do any cussing in this interview like I did in one last year. Sheesh, my mouth always gets me into trouble.

The oneliner: Now that I have tried this mock trial think, I am definitely going to sign up for trial advocacy next year. I think I could be better at it with some training. And, I will definitely email you next time. The next round involves me as the witness instead of the lawyer, should be interesting. Admittedly, I am not a good actress. And participating in a mock anything is somewhat of a stretch for me. During the closing arguments it was everything I could do not to burst into laughter upon hearing the closing of the prosecution for a fake death, in a fake town, in a fake state. Oscar winner I will never be.

Jane: Aww, thanks for reading some of my other posts, makes me feel loved. No doubt about it, I am a perfectionist, and I hate that about myself. I am in a constant battle with it, always trying to let things go while I keep a death grip on every single thing.

Berrybird: Oh yeah, definitely first time motheritis, and this is only the beginning. It can only get worse from here I fear.

Renee: I tend to freak out over everything, and off medication, it only gets worse.

NSLS: I am glad to make someone giggle. Makes me feel that it's all worth it. After all, people with perfect lives aren't entertaining at all.

Adrienne: Repeating after you, "The interview was not a disaster." Sounds funny coming out of me, but I will keep working on it.

Dino: Only time will tell on the interview front.

Ol'lady: Yeah, fuck'em. Unless I actually get the job and fooled everyone into thinking that I am actually competent.

Renee; No problem on not buying my child everything under the sun. No money anyway. It's the grandparents I am worried about.

Dream Writer: I definitely wouldn't have lasted as long as I have without all my bloggie buddies. Thanks again!!
