This side of normal.

When the nurse called yesterday, I admit that I had a bit of an attitude. And when she said that everything looked "normal", I became even more irritated. Normal? Exactly what is normal? So, I asked about my beta, and she replied that it was so low that I need not be concerned. I need numbers though, I am a scientist at heart and I need quantitative data, not qualitative. If I wanted qualitative, I would have stuck with the pee-sticks.

I should note that as soon as the call ended, AF came a knockin'. AF has her standards apparently, and doesn't come to my house until I am ready to pull all my hair out. Bitch.

Now, I suppose I really will have to concentrate on studying now. Two more finals, one on Monday and one on Tuesday. I will still be stalking your blogs, but am less likely to comment until finals are done. Until then, I am thinkin' of you all.

Hey you, thinking of you too. Hope AF doesn't give you too much of a hard time. Some people just have no clue how hard this is for us...damn nurse!! Hugs sweetie

AF's a bitch. I hope AF doesn't weigh you down during your finals. Study well. Kick ass on your remaining two finals!

AF certainly has never been known for her timing....
also, i love it when docs/nurses tell you "not to be concerned." shouldn't that be your decision to make after you receive the information you're entitled to? argh.
sending you all kinds of good, focused energy for your exams. good luck! i'm sure you're looking forward to wednesday when you will have one less thing on your plate for a bit...

And we're thinking of you too! Good luck with the finals. Have some chocolate; that's my strategy for everything.

Good luck with finals, my friend. You're making me a bit nostalgic for that finals feeling...the feeling after they're all over!

I think I hate the word normal.

Good luck with your finals!

Normal is clinical cause it sure as hell doesn't describe how we feel. Good luck with your exams!

Well, I'm floored that AF has come and all is well, just because your description of pain sounded so bad. I feel a bit silly about the email I wrote you now!

I am happy you are okay, but still a bit worried so promise that, exams or no exams, if you are in serious agony and still out of painkillers, you'll get the Doc on the phone?

I want you to live long and well! Let us know how you do on them eventually?

Sorry about the bitchy nurse. And I guess in your case that AF coming to visit is a good thing (personally I can't stand her and can't wait until she moves to FL for retirement.)
Do great on your finals and we'll see ya soon.
BTW: I think it's been great to see you as much as I have. HUGS

I'm not a scientist, and I'm so with you. Numbers, I want numbers. If you can't give me my numbers, fax me *my* results. They are *mine.* Why do medical offices *always* forget that.

Good luck with finals. The thought of *ever* taking another final sends shivers up my spine.

It figures AF would decide to show up! Hope it's not too terribly hard of a one.

I hate when nurses and doctors condescend. I have yet to learn how to stop that.

Good luck with the finals.

Not to worry we are all thinking of you as well. Hopefully you rock those exams :) I'm also glad to know that someone other than myself requests actual numbers when they go to the doctor.

Sorry about the clueless nurse. AF usually shows for me when I am in the elevator on my way home from by betas. Good luck on your finals. I hope the next week goes by quickly for you!

AF...I've come to the conclusion, if there is a God, it's not a woman. No way! We get AF for 1/4 of most of our lives & when she goes away, we have to put up with menopause for 5-10 years.

Anyways, I say screw that bitch.
