Green

So last Friday I got the message that youngest sister gave birth to a healthy baby girl. Sister named the baby girl after her first horse. Does anyone else think this is odd like I do?

Then the photos started coming via email. I am absolutely green with envy. Let's just say that I am not handling this very well.

Then, pregnant l@w student gave birth to her baby and there are photos posted around the office of the happy parents with their newborn.

This past week has been my personal jealousy nightmare.

I think it's odd. I wouldn't want to have to tell people that's where my name came from. Makes me think of Indiana Jones...

Green or not, I am so happy to hear form you again!

Hmmm, it all depends on what her first horse's name was - mine was Ginger - but we've also had a Tiara, Twilight and Trophy. So, those might be a little wierd.

I am sorry this last week has been so difficult. Jealousy is a nasty emotion to deal with.

(((hugs))) I can imagine that this would be tough for you. It's okay to be green.

How goes it with getting your body ready to try again? Did the doctors conquer all the bad stuff?

I get ya- my family use to send me baby pictures til I emailed them all the resolve how to be supported info.. that lessened it a bit. I was particularly irked by my nephew who's new wife sent out 3 xmas cards to us all with a different pic of them and her showing tummy. One would have been sufficient-- and I probably would have sent them a gift for the babyshower if they had bothered to send a thankyou for the wedding gift I sent them a few months earlier.. call me petty, but some days I do have a green streak and others I think it's just plain rude to not send thank yous. Hope you feel better soon.

It is hard when you know you are green but can't help it. You're not alone.
Hoping next week looks up x

Yes, I think its somewhat odd. IT depends, I suppose, on what the first horse was named. She got it young enough that she might have used one of her "ooh this is the kewlest name evah" names on it?

Although if the horse was "Patches" or "Princess," I am going to laugh and laugh.

I"m sorry you're green. Can you filter all emails from her or the rest o fyour family to a folder and have someone else deal with them?

Oh Dear, I don't suppose you could "accidentally" spill coffee on the photos at work? (grin)

As for little sister...just wait, she's about to be overwhelmed with baby tasks. I'll break out a big bottle of schadenfreude for ya if you like? Or maybe encourage you to pity her instead?

I'm glad you are back, so how's work now that that lahh student is gone?

So normal. Sorry that you have to go through all of this. If I could I would just fast forward you through the next five years.

That does sound hard, Nicole. And a very interesting choice of your sister's. I think Sara might be onto something with her having chosen that as her favorite name long ago. It is still odd though, even given that possibility.

Did Sister actually decide to name the baby after the horse? Or is this just something that you (or she) noticed after the fact? Either way, it is a little odd.

Jealousy is not fun. Not only do you feel bad, you feel bad about feeling bad. Or something like that. Can you tell them ixnay on the emailed photos?

My sister's son has the same name as the cat she had when she was six. When asked about it she just said, "I really loved that cat."

I'm with you my love, my 2 cousins have had babies in the last few weeks, my sister is due soon....

Horse name?? Hmmm strange....

I do find it odd to name a child after a pet. A pet horse at that. Unless of course, the name was semi-normal. Is it???

And sorry to hear about how you've been feeling for the past week.... it's completely understandable.

Hang in there!

ugh.. i hate those raining baby days.. yuk.

My sister tried naming her son after a dog we had growing up but my Mother put her foot down which I always respect since I'd hate to have to constantly think of a dead dog every time I saw my nephew.

Weird.
